The campsite De la Belle Etoile, located on the outskirts of Saint-Bonnet-le-Château may be just what you are looking for. This campsite boasts a view of the castle, which stands high atop the centre of the city. Although the recently opened swimming pool attracts young families, this campsite is primarily a favourite among older people and those looking for some peace and quiet.
Simple yet effectiveThis well-arranged campsite has demarcated pitches which vary in size. Some are located in the shade, others in partial shade and others in the sun. Not all paths are paved. The green of the hedges, trees and shrubs allow the natural wilderness to peek in from all sides.New swimming poolThe campsite boasts a heated swimming pool (60 m2) that was built in 2017 and a toddler pool. These pools are surrounded by a terrace with some loungers and umbrellas. There is a modest activity programme during the summer and you can also play a game of petanque or go fishing. Your fellow campers are primarily older people and those seeking peace and quiet, who typically spend several days here, many of whom are French. They occupy the 22 permanent annual pitches. There are not many Dutch people here. Eight mobile homes are also available for hire.Bites and drinksYou won't have to do all your own cooking here, because the campsite is home to a small restaurant that is open from June to August. The menu is on the limited side. However, the village boasts many delightful food stands and restaurants that serve well-known French cuisine. You can also buy fresh bread on the campsite every day.
