Motorhomes run on diesel and carry tanks of around 90 litres, so where you fill up matters far more than it does for a car. Fill at motorway services (199.6p average) rather than a supermarket (179.6p) and a single tank costs about £18 more. Supermarkets and independents lead the cheap end; Northern Ireland is the cheapest region by a distance at 176.7p.

How we measured this

Prices are the average diesel, in pence per litre, across Campercation’s fuel data, sourced from the UK CMA fuel-price scheme feeds — 7,772 forecourts. Brands with fewer than five forecourts are grouped as “Other”, and motorway service areas are reported as their own row rather than under their operator. Figures are a snapshot as of 1 September 2026 and are refreshed monthly, so they will not match the pump price on any given day.
