Campsite Les Sables is situated some three hundred metres from the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, slightly south of the harbour town La Rochelle. You can explore the old harbour of La Rochelle, the salt creeks in the area and the marshes of the Marais Poitevin regional natural park. With its large swimming paradise, the campsite is an excellent spot for the entire family.
Spacious pitchesThe camping pitches are interspersed with mobile homes over the elongated camping grounds. Paved roads guide you to your camping pitch, which is brightened up by flowerbeds and is shaded by a tall tree. All pitches are sufficiently large for your car and caravan or for a motorhome. As the pitches are separated from each other by large hedges, you will enjoy ample privacy.Swimming fun galoreThe swimming paradise is located near the entrance of the camping site. This water park is guaranteed to offer swimming fun for the entire family. What can be found here? A beautiful covered swimming pool (which lets the sun in through a retractable roof), an outdoor swimming pool with large, winding water slides, a shallow pool and a spacious whirlpool. And with the Atlantic Ocean only five minutes away, there is even more water fun to be had.Diverse areaThere are endless activities to keep you busy in the vicinity of camping site Les Sables. For instance, you can explore the marshland of the Marais Poitevin by canoe (forty minutes by car), and the Ile de Ré is an excellent cycling area with beautiful harbours and salt creeks. The historical theme park Le Puy du Fou, located an hour and half's drive away, is a wonderful experience for children and a veritable tourist attraction. Also fun for children: Natur’Zoo de Mervent, a zoo at an hour's drive from the camping site.
