Half an hour's drive from Linz you will find the rural and tranquil campsite Au an der Donau, located in the town with the same name. This is the place to be when you like cycling and want go for cycling trips through the natural beauty of Upper Austria. The campsite is directly situated behind a dyke with associated marina on the other side. Spend some time on one of the beaches (grass, sand and pebble) or enjoy yourself on the campsite with art, drama and music (on the restaurant terrace).
A quiet pitchAll pitches are well kept, and are level with firm, grassy surface. A large number of hedges and trees provide adequate separation and shade. The 50 touring pitches measure 65 to 180 m2. The campsite is very tranquil. You can hire unique overnight accommodation, such as 'sleeping barrels' (quirky barrel-shaped mini houses), rooms and apartments.Who are the visitors of this campsite?The focus is on cyclists/mountain bikers/e-bikers. The region is a veritable cycling paradise, without significant height differences. Prefer swimming? There is a nicely laid out natural lake on the campsite, located between greenery and flanked by a lovely sunbathing lawn. After a long day you can have a bite to eat in the restaurant, the snack bar or the pizzeria. There is also a bar.Sports and cultureThe large restaurant terrace is designed as a guest garden, and open both to local residents and camping guests. There are regular cultural events on the terrace: drama, music and art. The campsite has a sports field and a sizeable playground.Sanitary facilitiesThe ablution block, with baby room and children's sanitary facilities, was fully renovated in 2017. It is beautifully and practically laid out.
