The town of Mora lies in the heart of the tourist province of Dalarna, on Lake Siljan. First Camp Mora Parken lies adjacent to the town centre and on the banks of the Österdalälven River. It is a large but friendly camping site with many spacious pitches, nice cottages and ample play opportunities for young and old. Because of its proximity to the town, it is also in an excellent location when the weather is unfavourable. The camping site is really ideal as a base for the many attractions in the area.
Rental accommodationsThe pitches are partly paved and partly covered with grass. The grounds are large and very diverse with trekker huts spread throughout the site. Some of these huts look like traditional sheds and have rather basic furniture. They have no shower or toilet. In addition, the camping site has two luxury semi-detached apartments with all amenities (TV, fully-equipped kitchen and private shower/toilet).Camping shopThe camping shop stocks the essential foodstuffs, but there are some large supermarkets within walking distance in the centre of Mora.Heroic ski raceMora is known mainly as the finish for the Vasaloppet, a cross-country ski race over 90 kilometres from Sälen to Mora, which takes place each year on the first Sunday in March. During the week preceding this day several races are held. The course transverses the camping grounds. In the town, you will find the Vasaloppsmuseet, where you can find everything about this heroic race which is accomplished by tens of thousands of skiers each year.
