First Camp Orsa

First Camp Orsa is situated in the town of Orsa, which is predominantly known for its bear park, Orsa Björnpark. It forms an ideal base because of its location at Lake Orsasjön, a spur of the popular Siljan Lake. This part of Dalarna has much to offer the tourist: natural beauty and many attractions such as museums.

This large camping site is easy to reach from the E45; when you come from Mora, turn left at the first traffic circle and drive through the village, where road signs will send you in the right direction. You will be assisted by helpful staff members in the sleek and businesslike reception. The same building also houses a restaurant and a bowling alley. The spacious pitches (637 with electricity) are laid out along dirt roads and between trees. Most of the pitches offer a view of the lake.A hut or a cottage?The large camping site has a large number of holiday cottages in the shape of solid log cabins with all amenities, such as a private shower/toilet and fireplace. They are suitable for four to six persons. These cabins form their own neighbourhood on the camping site. You can also rent mobile homes. They have three bedrooms with two beds each, own shower/toilet and a fully equipped kitchen.How to learn about bearsThe unequalled attraction of Orsa is bear park Orsa Björnpark, some 16 km north of the camping site. The animals roam freely in nature on a gigantic, fenced-off terrain. Not only brown bears, but also wolves, eland, red deer, lynx and wolverines.
