The quiet campground of de Tauves lies at an elevation of 850 m. It is located in the Auvergne, at the foot of the Massif du Sancy. The new French managers (since 2017) will welcome you to their well maintained camping where you will have a lovely, spacious campsite (80-110 m2) on one of the terraces . The campsites, delineated by high hedges, are more or less shaded. Various caravans can be rented on the site (2.5 hectares).
From the higher campsites, you walk down to the outdoor swimming pool (169 m2) with a sunbathing area and heated toddler pool (16 m2). Next to this you will find the playground. You can order fresh bread from the camping shop.Get sportyThe campground is a good starting point for exploring the beautiful scenery, waterfalls, lakes, forests and castles. There is a centre for paragliding/climbing/canoeing at about 25 km from the campground. The climbing forest is a bit closer.Guests of the well maintained campground are allowed to use the nearby municipal sports facilities (football, basketball and volleyball) in high season.Fresh products at the marketThere is a market on Thursday mornings in nearby Tauves, which sells regional products. The festival of Laquias de Tauves takes place in August. Nearby you can play tennis, fish or go on horseback rides.The Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans d'Auvergne is a hilly area with eighty different old volcanoes and beautiful views, Romanesque villages and castles. The interesting Vulcania theme park is a nice attraction where you learn about the volcanic region in an enjoyable way and at the same time increase your knowledge.
