Within walking distance of St.-Nectaire, known for its cheese with the same name, you will find the Flower Camping La Vallée Verte. This tranquil, green campsite lies at an altitude of 700 m on the flanks of the Puy de Dôme, in the sloping, green volcanic region of Parc Naturel Regional des Volcans d’Auvergne.
On this well maintained campsite (2.5 ha) you have a choice of camping pitches varying in size from 80 to 100 m2, which are separated by hedges or other greenery. The trees offer adequate shade and the beautiful flower beds give the campsite an attractive appearance. The mobile homes, bungalows and trekker huts are located behind the swimming pool.Swimming pool with sliding roofThe heated swimming pool (91 m2) has a sliding roof and toddler pool (25 m2). Children will be happy to see that besides a playground, there is also a trampoline and bouncer. Join a game of table tennis or table football, or play a game of badminton or jeu de boules.Walking along waterfallsThe campsite is an excellent base to explore the volcanic, green region by bicycle or on foot. The hiking trails near the camping are moderately difficult. In the Sancy mountains there are more than thirty short and long walking trails in the vicinity with lakes and waterfalls.Basic dishesAt the fairly basic snack-bar you can buy snacks, pizzas, wine, ice cream and take-away meals in high season, which you can eat and drink on the terrace or elsewhere.Fresh bread is available by order. You will find a few restaurants and a small supermarket in St.-Nectaire at 400 m from the campsite. In high season there is a regular market around the church of St.-Nectaire.
