Camping Alkenhaer lies on the border of Friesland and Drenthe in the vicinity of Appelscha. You can camp here in peace and quiet in a beautiful natural area. Not far from the campsite are the National Parks Drents-Friese Wold and Fochteloërveen. Guests mainly come here to enjoy the peace and quiet, the space and the convivial atmosphere.
A spacious and clean campsiteThe entire campsite makes a quiet, clean and spacious impression. The camping pitches are also spacious and well maintained. They have a slightly quirky and natural design and therefore vary in size and location. The campsite attracts many families with children, but also senior guests. The latter visit the campsite predominantly in the early and late seasons. Lovely swimming pool Camping Alkenhaer has a lovely swimming pool as well as a safe toddler and children's pool, of course. You can also go for a swim in the outdoor pool Laco Bosbad in Appelscha, located within walking distance of the campsite.Kids reign supremeCamping Alkenhaer is a child-friendly campsite. Children can climb on the playground equipment, enjoy a game of soccer, play to their heart's content or go swimming. During school holidays the entertainment team organises great activities a few times per day. In the afternoons and early evenings sports or play activities are organised, like baking cookies, children's theatre or children's disco. In the evenings fun and sporty activities are organised for children from the age of eight and their parents, such as 'klootschieten' (ball throwing game), bingo and karaoke.Special kids menus The Boshuis is the real heart of the campsite. This restaurant has a number of menus and delicious à-la-carte dishes. There are special kids menus with a surprise for children.
