In the northern tip of the Médoc peninsula you will find camping Des Familles. This family campsite is just five kilometres from the beach and the Atlantic Ocean. The waves here are ideal for surfers. With a nice swimming pool on the campsite, with spouting animals in the paddling pool, children can also have a good time here.
Camping Des Familles is located in Grayan-et-l'Hôpital. If you arrive on the island from the north, by ferry from Royan, take the D1215 towards the village. From the south, the D101 will take you to the campsite. A side street leads you through trees and bushes to the entrance gate.Sheltered touring pitches and luxury lodgesOn the natural terrain there are about fifty spacious touring pitches. you'll find them between shrubs and under trees, providing shelter and privacy. Of the thirty rental accommodations, the luxury ecolodges are particularly beautiful. They offer you the comfort of private sanitary facilities and an equipped kitchen.Water fun and kitchen secretsThe heated pool is not that big, but spacious enough for water games. Next to the pool is the paddling pool. In the attractive restaurant you can taste typical French dishes such as duck breast and mussels with fries. But the menu also includes hamburgers and pizza.Renewed sanitary facilitiesTo the left of the entrance you will find one of the sanitary buildings. This old building, together with its contents, is in need of renovation. Fortunately, you can also make use of new and neat sanitary facilities in the sanitary block behind the swimming pool. This building is heated by solar panels and is therefore environmentally friendly.
