Camping De Veenhoop is centrally located in the area of the Frisian Lakes. De Veenhoop is also the name of the rural village in the municipality of Smallingerland, where the atmosphere is relaxed and convivial. The Marinus family welcomes everyone on their green campsite of a modest size.
Camping between water and forestThe marina belonging to the campsite is situated on a through waterway. This location gives it a picturesque appearance. From the campsite you can cycle into the vast nature with a different surprising route every day. You can also enjoy the surrounding nature on foot and from the water. What could be nicer than boarding a sloop after breakfast for a nice trip?Green and spacious pitchesCamping De Veenhoop has two parts, with the Eijzengapaed in the middle, a field for mainly cyclists and hikers. The spacious pitches are divided over three lawns of different sizes. Trees and shrubs on the edge of the campsite provide a neat setting and the necessary shade. The tasteful chalets offer wonderful accommodation for those who do not bring their own camping equipment.There is a playground next to the campsite. Children can play to their heart's content, play football and watch the chickens and rabbits that live on the campsite. The camping dogs also enjoy being petted by new guests.Restaurant around the cornerThe restaurant It Polderhûs is just a hundred metres from the campsite. In the former farmhouse you can enjoy lunch or a delicious dinner. A newspaper and fresh rolls are available daily at the reception of the campsite.
