Close to Catania, on the rocky coast of the Ionian Sea, you will find the medium-sized terraced campsite Jonio. The campsite extends at the foot of Mount Etna. The centre of Catania is some 5 km from the campsite. The campsite is very popular because of the beautiful view of the sea and its tranquillity. The campsite is located near a quiet residential area.
Camping with a sea viewCampsite Jonio (1.2 ha) is located in a wooded area. There are eighty touring pitches on the grounds. You have a choice of a pitch with more or less shade or even in the sun. Please keep in mind that the surface of the terraced campsite is mostly hard. The most beautiful pitches have seaview. Ideal to watch the sunrise. Camper vans and caravans are parked on a terrain with beautiful view of the cliffs and the waves. The well equipped bungalows and mobile homes stand relatively close together. Yet, you have ample privacy.Swimming, windsurfing and snorkellingYou can reach the sea and rocky coast via a flight of stairs. There is no beach, but you can swim in the sea between the rocks. You can go windsurfing and snorkelling at Jonio. Diving lessons are also offered.Dining outThe campsite restaurant offers an extensive menu and has a large terrace. Pizzas, snack and take-away meals are also available here. The bar has a spacious area featuring regular shows and performances by dancers or musicians. On the campsite you can buy daily fresh bread or breakfast and a modest range of groceries.
