The castle campgound of Château La Grange Fort is in a lovely location on a river in a forest in a green, rolling area where you can also find many old volcanoes. The castle grounds are called "the little Versailles of the Auvergne".
The campground is located at an elevation of 400 m. The spacious campsites stretch out over a rolling landscape. You have different views everywhere. You can get a spot next to the castle or along the forest, but also on the side of a hill. There are spaces with, without and with some shade.Castle roomThere are mobile homes and tents for hire on site. There are various luxury chalets in the forest. You can also spend the night in a real castle room! On Wednesday and Sunday, for a small fee, you can visit the 15th century castle with a tour. The restaurant with a small menu is located in the courtyard of the castle.Natural stone swimming poolThe swimming pool next to the castle is completely made of natural stone. There is an outdoor pool and a small heated indoor pool. You can enjoy the jacuzzis and the slide. There is also a sauna. From the campground there is a walking path to the river de Allier where you can swim. You can hire canoes, kayaks and mountain bikes at the reception.Climbing adventuresThere is a playground and a sports field on site. You can play table tennis and use the jeu-de-boules pitch. You can play tennis, go horseback riding, ride ponies and practice archery for a fee. There is an activities programme in Dutch for the kids. For children from about ten and for adults, the via ferrata is a climbing adventure.
