From Camping Sonnenstrand you have a magnificent view of the Rhine Valley and the heavy shipping traffic on this river. The reception is located upstairs in the modest building where you will also find the restaurant. The camping pitches are on an elongated flat field, running parallel with the Rhine and the B9. The pitches are demarcated. A pitch with a direct view of the Rhine costs an additional 2 euro.Unique swimming opportunityAn unique feature of this camping site is the sandy beach along the Rhine with a magnificent view over the valley and adjacent hilly landscape. There is some basic wooden playground equipment on the bank of the river. There is a sandbank in the Rhine and the river flows past the other side of the island. On this side - the side of the camping site - the water is calm. It is ideal for swimming. On sunny days the beach attracts many visitors.Shopping in BacharachOn the camping site, there is a small shop which stocks the essential foodstuffs only, including bread. The building where the reception is located also houses a good restaurant. Downstairs in the building are the sanitary facilities.
