The amiable family campsite Strandbad Edam is situated along the IJsselmeer, at the port entrance of Edam. You have a beautiful view over the IJsselmeer. The area attracts visitors from all over the world. You can amble through the narrow streets of quaint IJsselmeer villages and small towns, like Marken, Monnickendam and Volendam.
Well maintained camping lawnsThe L-shaped campsite is beautifully situated along the Markermeer, part of the IJsselmeer. From the reception you drive over a tarred road to your camping pitch on one of the well maintained camping fields. These are surrounded by an border of medium-height bushes. Interspersed by trees. The camping pitches, which are adequate in size, are not separated. There are a number of rental trekker huts on the campsite.Long jetty for surfing and swimmingChildren can romp around to their heart's content on family camping Strandbad Edam. There is a large lawn for them, a playground and a children's swimming pool with view of the Markermeer. For water sports enthusiasts there is a long surfing and swimming jetty, stretching out into the Markermeer for quite a distance. Enjoy the view over the lake from one of the chairs along the water's edge. Backpackers can prepare a meal in a specially equipped cooking area.Restaurant with view over the MarkermeerOn the campsite grounds, near the mouth of the canal which connects the Markermeer with Edam, is a restaurant with a fairly large terrace with sun umbrellas. You can also spend sunny days here. There is no shop or supermarket on the campsite. You can do your shopping in nearby Edam.
