The campsite De Bronzen Emmer is located on the outskirts of the village of Meppen, in the midsts of the woodlands of Drenthe. With its large selection of recreational opportunities, equestrian centre, bistro and lovely atmosphere, the campsite De Bronzen Emmer is a laid-back family campsite. The site is also a great place to start a hiking or cycling tour through Drenthe's beautiful natural environment.
Straight from your tent to the football fieldThe spacious camping pitches are playfully designed on large, well-kept lawns. The fields are surrounded by woodlands. Some pitches are bordered by bushes and trees. Active campers can choose a spot near the (car-free and dog-free) sports field. Great fun for families with children. Between the trees and separate from the camping pitches are a number of Finnish bungalows. These cosy accommodation units are peaceful and provide ample privacy.Swimming for both young and oldThis campsite is great for all ages, which is clear from its covered swimming pool. The littlest visitors can splash around in the wonderful heated toddler pool, whilst the more mature guests will enjoy swimming a few undisturbed laps during the daily senior hour. When the weather allows for it, the sliding doors of the swimming pool are opened for easy access to the sunbathing lawn. Treasure hunts and sport tournamentsAn adventurous treasure hunt in darkness finished off with a campfire, sports tournaments for the entire family or arts and crafts sessions: the recreation programme at the campsite De Bronzen Emmer is extensive (especially in high season). The more active campers will enjoy themselves on the sports fields. There are several playgrounds for young campers on the camping grounds, but a deer meadow, adventure forest and recreation area also provide plenty of fun.
