In the southern Vendée, some 60 km from Les Sables d’Olonne and from La Rochelle, lies the lively coastal town La Faute-sur-Mer. There is a wide range of lovely restaurants and shops here. In green surroundings close to this town you will find camping Le Grand R. The sea is only 500 m away from the campsite.
Camping with privacy and shadeLe Grand R is a medium-sized campsite with a beautiful swimming pool and approximately the same number of touring pitches and mobile homes. The terrain looks very well-maintained. The touring pitches are clearly demarcated and spacious enough for a car and caravan with awning. Also nice: the pitches are level and have a grass surface. They are situated among the trees so you have the option of a spot with or without shade. The campsite does not have a shop (although bread is available each morning) or a restaurant. However, there is a wide choice of shops and restaurants in the village for those days when you don't feel like cooking.Swimming poolThere is a heated (can be covered) outdoor pool with a separate toddler pool and slide. It is in full sun, with sufficient poolside space to sunbathe in sturdy beach loungers and under sun umbrellas. The beach of the Atlantic Ocean can be reached by crossing the D47 road from the campsite and via a 500 m walk on a paved path. ActivitiesEntertainment for children and teenagers is offered twice a week as well as twice weekly water aerobics in the swimming pool. On Mondays and Fridays, you will naturally join the pétanque tournaments and there are themed evenings with dancing and karaoke.
