Come and camp by Europe's largest freshwater lake: Lake Balaton. Balatontourist Camping Strand Holiday is a campsite on the shores of this delightful lake. The campsite's elongated shape means you can camp anywhere near the lake. You will be staying a few hundred metres from the village of Balatonakali. The seaside resort of Balatonfüred is fifteen kilometres away.
Pleasant camping you'll soon see on arrival: there are many caravans and mobile homes on this tidy campsite. There are also smaller pitches with some shade and larger pitches right by the lake. The pitches are not marked out and are fairly close together. You can therefore quickly make friends with your mostly Hungarian neighbours. Another part of the camping guests has a permanent pitch. In the low season, mainly older people from Austria and Germany visit the campsite. The sanitary facilities are quite old, but clean. By Lake BalatonThe best thing about this campsite is, of course, Lake Balaton. The lake is fairly shallow, averaging just three metres. This makes the water nice and warm in summer and very popular with tourists. You can fish in the lake, but not in high season between 09.00 and 19.00. Furthermore, no motorboats are allowed on the lake, making it safe for swimming. There are several harbours where you can sail. It is important, however, to remain vigilant. Sometimes there are strong gusts of wind here. There is a warning system with flashing lights set up for this.
