An hour south of Lyon, near the village of Saint-Donat-sur-l'Herbasse, you will find the Domaine du Lac de Champos campsite. The campsite is situated by a large natural swimming lake, between the small river l'Herbasse and a main road. It is part of a 'base de loisirs', a recreation area. In the snack bar you can get a quick snack or a complete takeaway meal.
The choice is enormousDomaine du Lac de Champos is a terraced campsite and has more than ninety spacious, delimited pitches. In addition, there is a separate area with various rental accommodations: twenty fully equipped chalets and four lodge tents. The campsite is very spacious and is situated in quiet surroundings with vineyards and fruit trees. The campsite is very suitable for a family holiday, as there is plenty of playground equipment, a tennis court and a recreation room. Furthermore, the entertainment is of a high standard.Water rats get together!As the campsite lies directly on a large natural bathing lake, it is a paradise for water lovers. Here you can swim, fish (with permit), enjoy the beautiful sunbathing area and slide down the slides. You can also rent canoes, pedal boats and paddle surfboards. For the little ones, there is a shallow area with water jets and for the experienced swimmers, a floating diving platform. Supervision ensures that everyone can swim in safety.Doing your shoppingFor some shopping you will have to leave the campsite; in the village of Saint-Donat-sur-l'Herbrasse, a ten minute drive away, you will find a supermarket and some other shops. You can also reach the village on foot, as there is a lovely footpath along the river.
